Whale's Jaw Publishing publishes works on the history and culture of Cape Ann, an area rugged in topography and spirit that juts out into the Atlantic half-way between Boston and Portsmouth.  The emblem of our enterprise is Whale's Jaw, the head of a great granite whale breaching to the surface of Dogtown Common in the center of Cape Ann.  The lower jaw of the stone leviathan has dropped, but the image lives on in memory and heritage, proclaiming the sea nature this island cape that is home to the city of Gloucester and the adjacent towns of Rockport, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea.
